DE atelier Architects is a boutique practice comprising seven staff based out of the coastal township of Ocean Grove in Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula. Established in 2003, DE atelier provides comprehensive design, planning and development services with specialised expertise in architecture for recreation, tourism and leisure orientated markets. DE atelier services markets stretching along Victoria's Surfcoast from Geelong along the Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool, Melbourne through to Victoria's Alpine resorts. DE atelier strives to provide architectural outcomes that respond to our client's desires, means and expectations. This involves ensuring site responsive designs that appreciate the way the building will be inhabited, the environmental footprint it will have and the influence it will have on the established character of its neighbourhood. An ongoing commitment by DE atelier to provide architectural solutions for a diverse market saw Leon Eyck, a principal of DE atelier, work with a team of colleagues to create the award winning design for the VicUrban Affordable House Competition 2004. The design solution was required both to be within the means of the wider public and achieve a six star environmental energy rating. DE atelier Architects is affiliated with both the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) and ArchiCentre.
