Located on the western end of the Geelong Foreshore the Sykrig Adventure Park will present a dramatic bookend to Geelong’s Foreshore.  The site has an extremely high profile and has required careful consideration of its position abutting the sea wall and siting within the public realm.  DE atelier has worked closely with the developer, the City of Greater Geelong & the Rig Contractors. Developing the overall master planning of the site incorporating the SkyRig, Park facilities and expansion and integration within the foreshore landscaping and public open space.

The building is a 500sqm facility incorporating an 11m high public viewing tower for observation of the SkyRig and wider Geelong.  Including a 100+ seat cafe, commercial kitchen and flexible areas to accommodate corporate training & team building, school groups, private functions and kids parties. DE atelier has developed the design with consultation with the CoGG, DELWP, Enterprise Geelong, Tourism Geelong & the Bellarine and the Geelong Authority.  The design incorporates an innovative re-use of shipping containers responding to the history of the site, cost & environmental considerations.
