The project at Standard Lane, Mt Buller involved the design and delivery of a contemporary alpine residential development comprising a series of purpose‑designed chalets within a sensitive high‑altitude environment. DE atelier Architects were engaged to provide architectural design, documentation and construction‑phase support for the project, which responds to the unique climatic, regulatory and site constraints of Mt Buller.

The design balances robust alpine construction with warm, refined interior spaces suited to seasonal occupation. Chalet layouts are organised to maximise amenity, outlook and functional separation between living, sleeping and service zones, incorporating features such as drying rooms, integrated storage and wellness amenities appropriate to alpine use. Materials and detailing were carefully selected to withstand extreme weather conditions while maintaining a restrained architectural character that complements the surrounding alpine landscape.

The project required close coordination with specialist consultants, including fire, building services and structural engineers, to meet Mt Buller planning, fire and environmental requirements, delivering a durable and high‑quality alpine accommodation outcome.
