The Geelong Children’s Centre Western Wing project involves a significant extension to the existing early learning facility at Lomond Terrace, Thomson. The project expands the centre’s capacity and amenity through the delivery of new age‑appropriate learning spaces, support facilities, and associated outdoor play areas, while carefully integrating with the operational centre and established site context.

Western Wing accommodates a range of indoor learning environments including multi‑purpose rooms, kindergarten and early years spaces, cot and sleep rooms, parents’ facilities, staff areas, and administration spaces. These are supported by compliant amenities, vertical circulation, and dedicated service areas.
Generous, secure outdoor play spaces are provided and directly connected to internal learning areas to support play‑based learning and indoor‑outdoor engagement.

The design prioritises regulatory compliance, accessibility, and child‑centred spatial planning, with a robust material palette and durable finishes suited to a high‑use educational environment.
