DE atelier Architects is working with Ocean Grove Tennis Club on its Master Plan and clubroom redevelopment. DE atelier Architects has undertaken extensive member and community consultation, working closely with the committee to survey the club’s membership, facilitate workshops, and present the final redevelopment master plan to members.

The design includes the development of plans to ensure universal access throughout the facilities, including upgrades that provide unrestricted access to the playing areas.

The proposal utilises the existing clubrooms, replacing the current flat roof with a new pitched roof incorporating clerestory windows. This design allows for deep solar infiltration throughout the building and reduces maintenance concerns associated with leaves from surrounding trees.

Externally, the building will be lined with rough-sawn timber battens, creating a surface that discourages vandalism while providing a strong architectural character. New entrance points will create a clear focus for the club and allow better control of access to and from the clubrooms, improving overall security.

The design also includes upgraded social rooms and bar, a new semi-commercial kitchen and kiosk, improved change rooms, updated toilet facilities, and a dedicated office space for club operations.
